Amidst the #despair and #fear many are experiencing today, there is the most enthralling and hopeful human development.
Four months ago we were seeing massive public peaceful demonstrations demanding #social #change and to address #climate #change. The world appeared more united in considering its #suffering and #hope. I wrote about the #refreshing and #inspiring role the arts were playing in the face of the fear-based deaf and blind authoritarian practices.
Then came the virus and our world was changed. We were forced to stop our habitual doing and therefore began to redefine our priorities. This can lead to becoming more conscious of our actions. Also, the more time passes by the more we are being forced not to rely only on demanding change of others and to instead deliver that change from within.
The #hopefulness in the situation is that, if we choose to engage consciously we begin to #rehabilitate ourselves to find, acknowledge and honor the emotional content accumulated in our heart that we have ignored for a long time. So long that our present suffering may be rooted in ancestral pain. If we choose to do so one result is that we stop projecting our pain and suffering unto the world. My book Uprooting Fear – The Heart’s Accidental Journey to the Divine is a story and a guide about doing this task.
There is #beauty and #divinity in each human life. Watching Andrea Bocelli’s performance in the vacant Milan cathedral and Pope Francis #praying for humanity, all by themselves, illustrated that as Pierre Teilhard de Chardin explained, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” Both souls were nakedly exposed to the world for all of us to see. All the materialistic aspects that consume the mind, time and resources were gone.
And there is beauty in the creativity of the #human #spirit expressed, among other, in the communication technologies that allow us to see this evolutionary step in action. To see and feel how much we are the same as well as the interconnection of our individual and collective life process.
So it is that every day is an opportunity to, among the noise, choose what addresses our soul's concerns. Only in that space we are to become capable to reflect upon the world the #loving and wholesome #solutions we create within. May the music and songs our souls are playing and singing take away all that blinds the mind and elevate our human experience to the #heavens.
